My Why Story

Having been an educator for nearly twenty-five years, I often get asked “Why did you decide to teach?  The pay isn’t that great, and you put in a lot of hours.”   I respond honestly.  Looking back, there isn’t anything I would rather have spent all of these years doing.  When your classroom is running efficiently, there’s an almost electric feeling about it.  Being a part of that is simply amazing and a privilege.  Those who don’t teach are truly missing out.  I chose to teach because I wanted to contribute to the future, and it’s been a privilege doing so.
